Review – November Birchbox

Hi Everyone,

I thought a nice feature to my blog would be to share my birchbox’s, these are a £10 a month subscription. It is one of my favourite times of the month when I get a mystery present from me to me. This month the box was styled by Vogue with two toned pink background and gold writing it was both classy and elegant which I really like. All the prodcuts in the box are from Vogues beauty hall of fame.

Benefit – Hoola – Retail price £24.50 // BUY HERE

The one thing that sets this bronzer apart from the rest? Its pure matte colour- a bronzing powder with no hint of sparkle or shine – so you can achieve year-round sun kissed radiance without the tell-tale shimmer.
Sweep over cheeks, down your nose, across temples and beneath your jaw for an all-over glow.

I LOVE this bronzer, it is part of my daily routine and even this little tester will last ages as you wont require much to achieve a natural warmth. The only bad comment I will make was the case came scratched, not that this is a majour concern the bronzer was still completely in tact it was more of a visual issue for me!

Percy & Reed – Smooth Sealed and Sensational Volumising No Oil Oil – Retail Price £14 // BUY HERE

Not only does it nourish tired hair exactly as an oil should, this formula takes things a step further with an injection of strengthening ProVitamin B5 and violet extract for added oomph. Plus it protects against heat styling
Work 1-2 drops through towel-dried hair, smoothing from root to  tip.

The name alone is a mouthful! I thought I would give this oil a go as I do like to give my hair a bit of shine, I was a little dissappointed as I didnt notice any volume given to my hair… then again I have got long thick hair so maybe it was either too little product of too much hair for this to work. I will prewarn you it doesnt have the nicest smell its very chemically.

Klorane – Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk – Retial price £8 // BUY HERE

Dry shampoo doesn’t have to be harsh. This one gently absorbs excess oil while softening unruly strands. Plus it adds a little texture to prevent your hair looking limp between washes
Shake well and spritz onto hair, focusing on the roots. Leave for a few minutes then brush through.

Out of this months box this is by far my favourite item. I cant say i am a huge fan of dry shampoo, it might just be me but I always prefer the clean hair feeling, but with Klorane it was half bareable. I would say it gave my hair another day without needing to be washed and that is major for me!

Nuxe – Huile Prodigieuse Multi-purpose Dry Oil – Retail price £17 // BUY HERE

Talk about versatile – this blend of six essential oils(including sweet almond, Camellia and macadamias) hydrates body, hair and face. Leaving behind a velvety sheen and a beautiful lingering scent.
Rub a few drops between your palms and smooth your skin to the ends of your hair.

I have tried this oil in a previous birch box so this was not a new product to me and considering there was already a hair oil it was a bit annoying that it was not another a makeup sample or something. However I do use this as a body oil and occaionally a face oil if i am travelling so it was handy to get a sample for my travel bag. A little goes a long way so the sample will last me well over a month and it does smell amazing like birchbox says.

Birchbox – Full-size Brush Cleaner – Retail Price £5 // BUY HERE

We’re taking the mess and hassle out of brush cleaning with this nifty tool. The specially-designed grooves help to remove every trace of product from your tools, giving them a deep-yet gentle clean.
Add a small amount of soap to the tool then swirl your wet brush over the textured surface. Rinse the bristles clean and the leave to air dry.

This is a cute brush cleaner, its a good travel size and it does the job. I cant say i needed a new one but it is nice to have for travelling..

Cargo Cosmetics – Beach Blush Sunset Beach – Retatil price £28 // BUY HERE

A compact powder that works as both a bronzer and a blush? Yes, Please! The four different colours combine to give skin a healthy looking glow without having to spend hours in the sun
Swirl a fluffy brush over all four colours bars to combine tones, the dust over apples of your cheeks, and any place the sun naturally hits your face.
As this was my first new order from Birchbox in a few months I did get a little bonus blusher made by Cargo. This blush was really pigmented, I would say one of the things i dislike about this is that the blusher is so glittery. If you like the shimmery shade then this is perfect for you, but for me I like a matte no shimmer finish for my everyday look.

Over all I think this was a good box, I was impressed my favourite new product was  the dry shampoo and I will definatly be buying the full size version. I would say the one I was least interested in was the brush cleaner however that is not to say it is bad just not to my personal preferance. I would rate this box 3/5

Until next time have a lovely weekend…
